Construction of New Nets Finished!

One of our young players tries out the new nets – Boxing Day 2012

Thank You🙂 The new practice nets are now finished and ready for use. The main contractor was Bingham Ground Services,  who despite some atrocious weather this month, have got the job done with minimal mess and disruption. For enabling us to bring this project to completion, some acknowledgements and thanks are due to the following parties who have provided financial and/or other support for this great new improvement to the club’s facilities: England & Wales Cricket Board, Shropshire Cricket Board, the late Jim Heath, Charles Ross and various Wolves supporters groups,   St.Georges & Priorslee Parish Council, Lilleshall, Donnington & Muxton Parish Council, Hadley & Leegomery Parish Council, East Shropshire Cricket Board, St.Georges Public Hall & Recreation Ground Management Committee, St.Georges Sports & Social Club and in particular Mr. Jeff Fletcher. We are still actively seeking further sponsorship and donations, but we are 90% of the way there. See the latest pictures

President’s Day, Sunday 30 June 2013, in memory of Jim Heath

Jim Gelsenkirchen.jpg 2013’s President’s Day will be in memory of Jim Heath who sadly passed away in August 2012.The proceeds will be going to causes nominated by Christine and the family. The day itself will consist of two Twenty-20 cricket matches – one to be played between Jim’s St Georges U15 side and opponents yet to be agreed, the other between a St Georges XI and hopefully a Wolverhampton Wanderers Supporters/Past Players XI. We hope to have a good number of guests to join us in this celebration together with members, Vice Presidents and supporters of St Georges Cricket Club and complement the cricket with a lunchtime meal and charity auction in our function room.  Before and after guests would be able to enjoy the cricket over a drink on the terrace.  In addition we will officially open our new practice nets and name them in Jim’s honour.

For more information , booking form and menu options click HERE

We have limited places and last years event was sold out in advance, so please book as early as you can.

By the way, Jim’s book “Wolves in 20/20 Vision” published only a year ago, is still on sale and can be ordered from the publisher or from Amazon
