Sam Morgan 1st XI captain 2020

At the 2019 AGM Sam Morgan was elected First XI captain for the 2020 season. He takes over from Chris Miller who leaves after many years as both player and captain and we wish him well. Sam has been a club member since he was a young boy and is keen to help breathe new life into all parts of the club. He previously captained the Sunday XI and also several junior age group teams. This season sees a new start for our first XI as several of last year’s team have moved on. Several new players have been recruited and we all look forward to this season with a new look team.

Message From Chairman

On behalf of St.Georges Cricket Club, I would like to wish all volunteers, players and members a very Happy Christmas. Thank you to all who supported the club this year. Since the AGM it has been really good to see the enthusiasm and engagement shown by so many people. Let’s keep the momentum going into the new year to make 2020 a year to remember ahead of our centenary in a couple of years time. Wishing everyone a happy and prosperous New Year too.

Paul Taylor , Chairman

Ground Work Today cancelled

Due to poor weather outlook we are now NOT going to put the loam on the squares today. The work is postponed until the weather looks better, in order to avoid the risk of everything being washed away by rain.

Race Night Saturday 29th June

All members, supporters and friends of St. Georges CC are encouraged to attend our race night on Saturday 29th June starting at 7.00 pm. First Race at 7.30 pm. This is a club fund-raiser, so we are hoping for a good turnout, particularly by club members. Cash to be won on the tote and prizes for winning horse owners and also a good cash price for predicting the 1-2-3 of the Tricast Race. Bring along friends and family!

Graham Hoof

We regret to announce that Graham Hoof passed away on Thursday 23rd May. Graham was a long time supporter of St.Georges CC, who was invariably present at both home and away games, and was previously often to be seen rolling the pitches. In recent years he suffered from poor health, but still made occasional appearances at the club. The funeral service is at Telford Crematorium on Thursday 13th June at 11.30 am and afterwards at the club.
