Chris Rowlands 2Chris Rowlands (14 years) is in the process of completing his Duke of Edinburgh bronze award at Wrockwardine Wood School, Chris Rowlands1for which he has to undertake 12 hours of voluntary work.  Chris approached the Cricket Club to ask if we could find some work for him.  Of course there is always a lot to do, even out of season and after some discussion, Chris settled on agreeing to keep the new practice nets clear of leaf and debris over the winter period.

As the pictures show, Chris is spending one hour a week undertaking the task. He has already nearly filled one skip full of leaves.  This is a great help to the Cricket Club, will ensure the surface of the new nets is looked after properly and will help Chris towards gaining his bronze award.

So a big “thank you” to Chris.

If you know of anybody who is looking to undertake voluntary work like Chris, please ask them to email Paul Taylor, Chairman of St Georges Cricket Club or call him on 07890 326679
