In week 7 the 1st XI were inserted at Frankton and made 214/7 with solid contributions from the top four of Gareth Hughes, Mo Zaheer, Chris Miller and Steve Taylor. Returning captain Ben Byram’s bowling figures of 4/28 would have made the headlines on any other day, but the second innings was the Steve Taylor show. In 8 overs he took 6 Frankton wickets conceding only 5 runs. (Steve is the younger brother of former club luminaries Pete and Mark, and son of chairman Paul). Frankton were all out for 38, a winning margin of 175 and 24 points. The 2nd XI continued their successful run, with an emphatic home win over Alberbury.  Young Sam Morgan continued his run of form with a good 65 while Chris Waldron found his again, with an unbeaten 133. The St.Georges total of 305 on a slow outfield looked unassailable, and so it proved, with Mike Myatt, Bobby Gill and Liam Forrester getting 3 wickets apiece to dismiss the visitors for just 86. At Acton Reynald  Jack Wilmot and Kevin Myatt took 5 and 4 wickets respectively to bowl the hosts out for 203. The 3rd XI chased down the target with 5 overs to spare,  Ross Wilmot (69) led the way supported by Jack Heath, Allan Myatt and Ryan Forrester. Whitchurch III posted an impressive 259/5, which our 4th XI could not match, but they overcame their recent batting frailties to hang on for a draw. The U10 side got in a match on Sunday morning, beating visitors Quatt, while after last week’s encouraging signs the U15s’ batting again crumbled at Hawkins in Cheslyn Hay.
