In Week 3 our 1st and 2nd XI both suffered emphatic defeats at the hands of Newport. At Newport the 1st XI could only manage 120. Gareth Hughes (56) was the only batsman who made an impression as Nick Watkins got 6 St.Georges wickets. The 2nd XI  managed only 143 on a good pitch and fast outfield and with a seemingly strong batting line-up at Church Street. Without No. 10 bat Joe Buttery’s 45, the score would not have reached three figures.  Neither score was ever going to be enough. The 3rd XI made a spirited fightback chasing 245 at home, Alex Dillon (62), Allan Myatt (64) and Chris Cousins (31) nearly getting St.Georges over the line, falling just 20 runs short in the end. The fourth XI won at Allscott. Aaron Musgrove took 6/15 to bowl the hosts out for 118. Dave Chesters (37no) ensured that we got the points.
