Help on Ground Needed!

We need a volunteer to sit on the Toro mower and mow the outfield. It’s not a strenuous job, but it is quite time consuming. With the amount of activity on the ground this year, Paul and Dave Smart are going to struggle to get this job done.  It ideally needs to be done weekdays before 6.00 pm because at most other times the ground is likely to be in use for matches or practice. So if there any shift workers or retired people or anyone who has a few hours time during the day out there who would like to help the club, please get in touch with Paul Smart on 07776 385026. Full instruction will be given.

President’s Day 2013

Tickets for the President’s Day lunch on June 30th are selling fast and will definitely sell out. Those who have not yet booked and would like to come should not delay. Information and booking forms can be downloaded here

Successful start to the season for all teams

John Millward-Sadler

John Millward-Sadler

Ben Byram‘s 1st XI started the season with a convincing win at Wem, with Josh Sedgley(85), Lewis Sedgley(40*) and Gareth Hughes(54) in good form with the bat. The second XI under new captain Dave Pope also beat Wem,with solid batting contributions from Dave Whibley-Law, Matt Chesters, Fraser Watson and Liam Forrester, with Mike Myatt taking five wickets. Jack Wilmot’s 3rd XI also started well, star of the show being John Millward-Sadler, who scored a century in his first game after a two-year layoff. Dom Musgrove’s 4th XI travelled to Alberbury on Sunday and bowled them out for 103, Ryan Forrester, Joe Gregory,Kev Myatt and Shoaib Sajjad all chipping in with wickets, before Dom Musgrove ,49*, and Mike Ross, 40, knocked off the runs for a 9 wicket win .  You can view all the scorecards as and when they get posted via the links in the sidebar at the right of the page.

Considering our ground was covered with snow less than three weeks ago, Paul and Dave Smart have done a fantastic job to get it looking so good for the start of the season.
