New Players for 2013

Ben Byram recently announced two new signings for the 2013 season. Both players are well known in the club. Chris Miller is a former Dragons captain, who returns to St.Georges after a season at Shifnal.  Sean Parkes came up through the junior section and returns again after a season at Allscott. We welcome both players back and wish them good luck and form this season.

Jack Wilmot 3rd XI Captain

Jack Wilmot2 Jack Wilmot will take over the 3rd team captaincy from Liam Forrester in 2013. Jack has been a member at St.Georges for several years and takes on his first captaincy role this year. We are sure he will be a popular skipper and will get good support from all the players.

President’s Day 2013 in memory of Jim Heath

Jim Gelsenkirchen.jpg 2013’s President’s Day will be in memory of Jim Heath who sadly passed away in August 2012. The proceeds will be going to causes nominated by Christine and the family. The day itself will consist of two Twenty-20 cricket matches – one to be played between Jim’s St Georges U15 side and opponents yet to be agreed, the other between a St Georges XI and hopefully a Wolverhampton Wanderers Supporters/Past Players XI. We hope to have a good number of guests to join us in this celebration together with members, Vice Presidents and supporters of St Georges Cricket Club and complement the cricket with a lunchtime meal and charity auction in our function room. Before and after guests would be able to enjoy the cricket over a drink on the terrace. In addition we will officially open our new practice nets and name them in Jim’s honour.
