Work begins on New Nets following successful funding application

Digital StillCameraDigital StillCameraThe site preparation work for our new 3 lane all-weather practice nets began this week. Older members may recognise the old paddling pool which has after many years been revealed by the excavations.
Shropshire Cricket Board (SCB) through their Cricket Facility Strategy, identified St Georges CC as a priority in Telford for the development and installation of non turf practice facilities to support our growing junior programmes for boys, girls and people with disabilities. This resulted in the England and Wales Cricket Board through consultation with SCB, approving the project on SCB‘s recommendation. 75% of the cost of the project, some £37,500, was granted to the club as a result. The balance is being met from club reserves, fundraising and a loan. A sizeable contribution was made by the late Jim Heath in his will and also from donations made after his funeral. St Georges Parish Council have also offered financial support. The total cost of the project is over £50,000. We are also grateful for support and cooperation given by the St.Georges Recreation Ground Management Committee and the Sports & Social Club….Follow progress in our photo gallery

AGM date change

The club AGM will now be held on Wednesday 21 November at 8:00pm

Help needed on Saturday 20th Oct

We need a working party to put away the screens and covers for the winter and also do a couple of other small jobs.

This will be done this Saturday 20th October at 11:30 am. As always with these things the more bodies we have, the quicker the job is done.

Please make sure you are there to do your little bit to assist our groundsmen!

Junior End of Season Evening

A great turnout of juniors, parents and friends. Thanks to all those who organised the evening, especially Heath and Jane Forrester , who put in lots of work, including preparing all the food. More details soon. In the meantime click here to see photos
