Mike knew everyone at st georges, including most of the junior players. The reason he knew everyone is because he had time for everyone I think that says it all.
I remember everyone going to Shrewsbury for Mike’s last match when he scored 100 to win the 20/20 cup knockout. We took the ground over and Mike got an amazing ovation as he walked in. I will always remember that day in September 2004. Malcolm Webster – Vice Chairman St Georges CC

From his sister and brother-in-law we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kind words. We have been fortunate enough to meet some of his England family over the years but one day hope to travel and meet you all.
His time with St George’s is something he valued and very often talked about the great friendships he and Madonna had made.
He will be dearly missed by us all. Thank you all for giving him such special memories.
Love to you all,
Rachel & Matt Dean

Hi guys,
that’s a great gesture and one Micko would be very proud of. He absolutely loved his time with you guys. Myself and Kylie were fortunate enough to visit you guys on a couple of occasions – it was absolutely brilliant. I even got to play a game in that Six-a-side day. Great fun, albeit it very wet!
Micko used to talk all the time about his and Mads’ time over there and it always brought a smile to his face.
And to Fraser, we saw the letter you wrote the other day and it brought tears to the eyes for all those that read. Much appreciated. Micko was one special guy and will be so missed by a lot of people!
Thanks from all of us over here in Oz.
cheers,
Staunts
